WASHINGTON – It was a close game all the way to the end when the Washington County Tigers met up with Centralia on Friday at home. The boys’ teams did not play since the Tigers were on quarantine, but there was enough excitement in the girls’ game for a full night.

Alyssa Kern hit three of her four 3-pointers in the first half to keep the score growing for the Tigers. They were up by one after the first quarter and up two by halftime, 25-23.

The teams both scored nine points in the third quarter, but the Tigers fell behind in the fourth.

With 17 seconds left in the game, Camryn Boykin tied the game with free throws.

Centralia was able to respond with free throws of their own, to go up by one. But then with seven seconds left, Camryn drove in for a score to give the Tigers a win.

This protected Washington County’s undefeated record. They are 3-0 in the league and 4-0 overall going into the Christmas break.

Alyssa Kern led the team with 14 points and four steals and Camryn Boykin had 10 points. Mia Cardenas had four rebounds and four steals.
