CLYDE – The Clifton-Clyde Eagles led Washington County by one point at halftime on Friday in the teams’ season-opening games on Friday at Clyde. But then the Eagle defense keyed on WCHS senior Kobe Hoover, who had 18 points in the first half, including four 3-pointers, and stalled out the Tigers’ scoring to pull into a 17-point lead by the end of the quarter.

The Eagle offense started humming and Clifton-Clyde won 54-31.

Aiden Rudolph led the Eagles with 20 points, while Kobe Hoover had 20 points for the Tigers.

CLYDE – Washington County jumped to a 30-14 lead in the first half against Clifton-Clyde in the season opening game on Friday in Clyde. While the score did not change in the third, the Eagles stormed back in the fourth quarter, scoring 25 points against Washington County. The Eagles had a one-point lead with almost no time left in the game. But with time running out, WCHS senior Camryn Boykin was fouled on a ¾ court shot, sending her to the line with no time left. Clifton-Clyde had three starters fouled out, and could not stop the Tigers. They scored eight and won 53-45.

Emma Nobert led the Eagles with 14 points, while Haley Thrasher had 10 rebounds. Alyssa Kern had 15 points for the Tigers, while Mia Cardenas had 14 rebounds.
