Clifton-Clyde advances with win over Onaga

FRANKFORT – A 32-point, 12-rebound game by Clifton-Clyde freshman Shea Wurtz helped the Eagles to a first round win over Onaga on Saturday in the Twin Valley League tournament at Frankfort. The Eagles were up 30-14 by half and held on for a 52-42 win. Mallory Callihan had a big game with 12 points and 14 rebounds, good for a double-double.

Linn girls fall in close first round game

FRANKFORT – The Linn girls were tied 37-37 with 20 seconds left in their first round Twin Valley League tournament game on Saturday in Frankfort. But Linn had to foul to stop the clock and Centralia was able to sink both free throws at the 16.2 mark. After a time out, Linn was unable to score and fouled again and Centralia made both free throws to go ahead by four for a 41-37 win.

Sophia Bott led the team with 15 points, including three 3-pointers in the first half. Faith Beikman had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Washington County gets 14 point win

FRANKFORT – Washington County had a strong first half against Troy on Saturday in their matchup against Troy in the first round of the Twin Valley League tournament in Frankfort. They went up 30-12 by halftime and won 46-32. Alyssa Kern led the team with 17 points.

Washington County boys fall to Troy

ONAGA – Washington County fell behind Troy in the first half of their first round game against Troy on Saturday, in the first round of the Twin Valley League tournament in Onaga. The Tigers were behind 34-24 by half and while the Tigers made a run in the fourth quarter, they weren’t able to catch up, losing 49-53. Senior Kobe Hoover sank four 3-pointers in the first half, leading the team with 20 points.

ONAGA – Linn and Centralia were tied after the first quarter in the first round game of the Twin Valley League tournament on Saturday in Onaga. But Centralia put up 21 points in the second quarter and held Linn to zero to end up winning 46-30.
