Rosella Fern (Myers) Cline was born on a farm near Leonel, Okla., on Jan. 20, 1933. She was the first child of Alvin Edward Myers and Lillian Frances (Sidebottom) Myers. She died Jan. 15, 2021.

She went to school at Longdale, Okla., through the early grades. The family moved to Washington County, Kansas in 1946. She graduated from 8th grade from Silvercliff rural School and Morrowville High School in 1951.

She married (Henry) Vaughn Cline at Fairbury, Neb., on Sept. 10, 1950. The couple moved to Fairbury in 1952 where they joined the First Baptist Church. She served as Sunday school teacher, deaconess board member, memorial board member, church historian and was active in the ladies’ mission group. The couple had three daughters: Lavonna, Alvadine and Jolene.

She was a life member of the Jefferson County Historical Society, serving as member of the board for several years and participating in multiple projects.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Alvin and Lillian Myers, her brother Herbert Myers, her sister Iola Carter and husband Vaughn.

She is survived by her children, Lavonna Kidder and husband Mike, of Lincoln, Neb., Alvadine Gilliland and husband Kevin, of Omaha, Neb., Jolene Banks and husband Scott, of Firth, Neb., 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and her brother-in-law Louis Carter, of Morrowville.

Services will be Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Chapel in Fairbury. Memorials will go to the family’s choice. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery – Haddam. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
