Joan Kay Wohler, 69, died Oct. 25, 2020, at Topeka. She was born Sept. 12, 1951, at Concordia to Vernon Helms and Eva Carson.

She was raised in the Linn community and was a graduate of Linn High School Class of 1969. She worked at the Linn Community Nursing Home and at Jack’s Food Market.

She married David Wohler on July 17, 1981. She worked as a cook at the Clay County Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her father and a sister, Jeanette Peters.

Survivors include daughters Julie Smith, of Garden City, Sonya Wohler, of Quincy, Ill., and Dorrie (Spencer) Johnson, of Clay Center; mother Eva Helms, of Linn; sisters Carol Ohlde, of Linn, Edith (Roger) Lange, of Clay Center, Saundra (Claire) Wohler, of Linn; brother in law Mike Peters, of Linn, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, with the family greeting from 4-6 p.m. at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center. Facemasks that cover the nose and mouth are required for those attending.

Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn with Pastor David Gruoner. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center.

Memorials can be made to Elara Hospice, Clay County Hospital Foundation to be used for Alzheimer’s treatment, or to Kelley House 1.
