Henry W. Kuhlman passed away on Dec. 11, 2022, at the Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center at the age of 93.

Henry was born and raised in Linn, the son of Henry and Anna Kuhlman, who immigrated to the states from Germany. He married Iris Kathleen Gray on June 4, 1950, where he resided in the Linn community with his wife for over 60 years. They raised their four children, Laura Rene, Teresa Ann, Rolf Eric, and Henry Jay.

He was a lifetime member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Linn where he served on the council for many years.

In his early years, Henry worked with his father as a partner at Kuhlman Motor Company in Linn. From 1965 through 1989, he owned and operated the Chrysler Dealership in Washington. In his later years, he worked for the Dodge dealership in Marysville where he was able to share his many years of experience in the auto industry.

He served as Chairman of the Linn Housing Board for 39 years and was a member of the Washington Lions Club, the Elks Club, and the Moose Club. He was a member for 14 years on the board of the Kansas Motor Car Dealers Association and served as president from 1979-1980. His many achievements also included serving as City Clerk, President of the Linn Booster Club and Chairman of the Washington County Agricultural Hall of Fame.

In his younger years, he enjoyed playing the drums at local events. After he retired, his passion was working in his yard and gardens.

Henry is preceded in death by his wife (Iris), sister (Dorothy Ann), and daughter (Teresa Ann Hohman).

He leaves behind his daughter, Laura and husband Kelly of San Antonio, TX, Rolf and wife Joy of Omaha, NE, and Henry Jay and wife Kelley, of Kihei, HI. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren as well as many close friends that he came to know throughout his many years.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
