Tigers win Regional Golf Meet

The Washington County Tigers qualified for the Class 1A state golf tournament by winning the Class 1A Regional tournament on Tuesday at Cedar Hills Golf Course. Hanover’s Brigham Bruna also qualified as an individual.

TVL GOLF RESULTS

The Washington County Tigers won the Twin Valley League golf title on Friday at the Waterville Golf Course. Carson Kearn, Monte Huckett, Miles Miller, and Tucker Huband combined for a 338 to give the Tigers a 15 stroke lead over second place Onaga. Centralia was third with 368 and Hanover was fourth with a 381.

District assignments for football released

District assignments for football have been released for the 2024 and 2025 seasons and there will be a change for a local team. While still playing in 8-man Division II, Linn is being sent west to District 4, instead of playing in District 3 where Hanover and two other Twin Valley League (TVL) teams will continue to reside.

There were four TVL records were broken at the meet, including two by Washington County girls and two by Axtell boys. Washington County High School junior Addy Goeckel broke the 300-meter hurdle record with a 45.59.
