Harold Travelute, of Hanover, died March 2, 2024, in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Marysville to Lawrence and Carlene Travelute. He went to Deer Creek grade school and graduated from Marysville High School with the Class of 1947.

In 1948 he joined the Army National Guard. He spent 12 years in the National Guard, achieved the rank of Sargent First Class and received Honorable Discharge.

On Nov. 9, 1950, he married Rosemary Sandmann at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville. They had five daughters: Dianne, Colleen, Roxanne, Lucinda and Jami.

The couple farmed all their married life, retiring in Arizona in their later years. Harold served 6 years on the St. John’s School Board (3 years as president), was a member of the Hanover Knights of Columbus and Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus; he also served for 9 years on the Board of Directors at the Bremen Co-Op.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, JoAnn Deters and Kathy Lieker.

Services will be Saturday, March 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 10815 N 84th St., Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
