Forrest W. Tegethoff, 83, of Washington, died Feb. 6, 2021, at the Washington County Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 13, 1937, in Washington County to Floyd and Lula (Diller) Tegethoff. In 1955, he graduated from Washington High School.

On Feb. 27, 1960, he was united in marriage to Roine Rippe in Hanover. To this union four children were born: Rick, Tamie, Kelli and Randy.

He worked as an owner/operator of Frosty’s Mobil, as a custodian for the Washington Co. Courthouse, as a stocker/checker/assistant manager for Kier’s Thriftway, and more recently, the manager at Short Stop. He also helped Norman Stewart out on the farm with harvest and other farming activities.

He was a member of the Washington Christian Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Roine, in 200 8; and sister, Cleora Scheetz.

Survivors include his children, Rick (Julie) Tegethoff, of Washington, Tamie Tegethoff, of Belleville, Kelli Tegethoff, of Washington, Randy (Syri) Tegethoff, of Newton; sisters, Shirley Truhlicka, of Marysville, Leona Kalous, of Topeka; brother, Lavern (Allece) Tegethoff, of Salina; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are pending and will be announced at a later date.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
