Prairie chicken and pheasant populations in Washington are slowly declining, according to officials from the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism.
The declines are due to loss of habitat from expanding cropland or from modern agricultural practices that no longer produce ideal conditions for the birds.
