WC girls win regional meet

  • Sevy Wurtz, a Clifton-Clyde freshman, broke the school record in triple jump on her way to a gold medal in the event. She also claimed gold in the 100 and long jump. She will also compete in state on the 4x100 meter relay team.

  • WCHS junior Lillee Richard won the pole vault at regionals, qualifying for a return trip to the Class 1A state meet.

The Washington County girls won the Class 1A Regional Track Meet on Friday in Mankato while qualifying five individual girls and two relay teams to the Kansas State Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday in Wichita.
