Hanover makes state title game exciting, but wins 50-35

Body
The Hanov Hanover looked like they would roll to a state championship without any trouble after winning the first two games at the state tournament by 14 and 28 points respectively, and then jumping to a 15-point first quarter lead in the state title game against Lebo on Saturday. But traditional state foe Lebo crept their way back to take a lead late in the third quarter before Hanover finally got momentum back and went on to win 50-35 for their second state basketball championship in a row.

TVL teams do well at state tourney

Body
The Twin Valley League had a strong showing again at the state basketball tournament this year. Besides the local Hanover girls and Clifton-Clyde boys participation in the tournament (see associated stories), the Frankfort girls won the Class 1A-Div. I crown over formerly undefeated Little River, 47-41. Frankfort blew out their first two opponents at state. The championship game was their closest game since defeating Clifton-Clyde at the substate championship, 4641.

Shooting struggles doom Clifton-Clyde at state

Body
Clifton-Clyde’s trip to the state tournament ended in round one after the Eagles struggled with their shooting, especially from the 3-point line. The team faced off against Olpe in the first round game on Wednesday in Colby and ended up falling 50-58.
