Substate sites and game schedules announced by KSHSAA

Substate assignments have been announced for high school basketball postseason. The substate games will lead to state tournaments at Manhattan for Class 2A, Dodge City for Class 1A Division I, and Great Bend for Class 1A Division II.

Class 1A

Seeding for substate brackets for Class 1A, Division 1 and 2, will be on Saturday, Feb. 20.

On Thursday, Feb. 25, Class 1A girls will play quarterfinal games at the higher-seeded team and then the same for boys on Friday, Feb. 26.

On Thursday, March 4, the girls will play semifinal games at the substate host site and the boys will do the same on Friday, March 5. The host site will again host the substate finals on Saturday, March 6.

For the state quarterfinals, the girls will play on Monday, March 8, at the higher-seeded (by associated groups) site as long as the site meets KSHSAA guidelines. The boys will do the same on Tuesday, March 9.

Winners will advance to the primary state site. Girls semifinals will be on Thursday, March 11, and boys will be on Friday, March 12. The championship game for both will be on Saturday, March 13. No third place games will be played. Third place trophies and medals will be awarded to the two teams not advancing to the championship game.

TVL teams in Class 1A-Division I have the following substate assignments:

Centralia – Centralia, Clifton-Clyde, Frankfort, Doniphan West, Jackson Heights, Onaga, Troy.

TVL teams in Class 1A-Division II have the following substate assignments:

Axtell – Axtell, Hanover, Linn, Blue Valley, Pike Valley, Wetmore.

Class 2A

Seeding for substate brackets for Class 2A will be on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Substate quarterfinal games will be played at the higher-seeded team site for boys on Monday, March 1, and for girls on Tuesday, March 2.

Semifinal games will be played at the substate host site for boys on Thursday, March 4, and for girls on Friday, March 5. The substate championship will be on Saturday, March 6, to determine who qualifies for state.
