Joyal M. Crain, 85, died Nov. 2, 2021, at Chisholm Place in Wichita.

She was born on Sept. 17, 1936, to Cecil and Dorothy (Finch) Leidig. In 1954 she graduated from Washington High School.

She worked for Farmland Industries much of her career keeping books at co-op grain elevators in Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska.

She married Lowell Crain, of Greenleaf. They had three children, John, Scott, and LaDonna. The couple later divorced.

She lived in Meade after retiring in 1998. She was active in the Meade Methodist Church, Sunday school and Mission Mart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Linda Leidig and Celia Schmidt; brother, Lonnie Leidig; and brothers-in-law, Bill Shorman, Ernest Scheetz, and Bob Boston.

Survivors include her sons, John Crain, Peyton, CO, Scott (Lori) Crain, Meade, KS; daughter, LaDonna (Brent) Blomberg, El Dorado, KS; sisters, Marvel Boston, Manhattan, KS, Carol Shorman, Green, KS, Zetta Scheetz, Fairbury, NE, and Wilma Leidig (Maceo), Chesapeake Beach, MD; brother, Jerry (Sue) Leidig, Ellsworth, KS; and brother-in-law, Richard Schmidt, Western, NE; six grandchildren, Jonathan Crain, Lissa Speer, Bobbi Hessman, Ryan Crain, Heath Parsons and Lacy Larsen; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, at the United Methodist Church in Washington. Visitation will begin at noon at the church.

The pallbearers will be Ryan Crain, Gene Shorman, Tracy Sheetz, Jeremy Leidig, Matt Leidig and Kyle Speer.

Burial will follow in the Washington City Cemetery.
