Elda A. Friedrichs, 91, of Bremen, died Feb. 4, 2021, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville surrounded by her family.

A relatives-only service was Feb. 9 at Immanuel (Hermansberg) Lutheran Church north of Bremen.

She was born Nov. 6, 1929, near Hanover to William and Anna (Jasch) Holle. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel (Hermansberg) Lutheran Church, Bremen. On May 14, 1950, Elda was united in marriage to Leonard Friedrichs at Immanuel Lutheran. Leonard died March 3, 1997.

Elda was a devoted housewife, mother and partner in the farm. She was the bookkeeper for their DeKalb Seed business for 45 years. She also decorated wedding cakes for many couples and made all of her children’s wedding cakes. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and baking, making the best homemade bread and cinnamon rolls, according to her kids and grandkids.

Elda was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and belonged to the Immanuel Ladies Society. She was a past board member of the Marshall County Historical Society and was instrumental in establishing the Hermansberg School Museum.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard of 46 years; infant daughter, Linda; sister, Darlene Longshore; brothers, Delmar Holle and Arlan Holle; in-laws, Jack Ricky, Jerry and Verneda Mason, Howard Moehlenbrink and Lorna Friedrichs.

Survivors include her children, Maurice (Susan) Friedrichs, Marysville, Clair (Barb) Friedrichs, Herkimer, Lyle (Marilyn) Friedrichs, Lincoln, NE, Sherilyn (Scott) Griswold, Marysville, Lyndon (Deb) Friedrichs, Bremen, and Eva (Darrell) Cook, Oketo; brother, Elvin (Shirley) Holle, Bremen; sister, Karen Ricky, Washington; brothers-in-law, Paul Longshore and Ray Friedrichs; sisters-in-law, Darlene Moehlenbrink, Janice (Lennis) Holle, Donna (Tim) Kelley, Darlene Holle and Judy Holle; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces

and nephews. The pallbearers were Allen Friedrichs, Brian Friedrichs, Clint Friedrichs, Jacob Friedrichs, Heath Griswold and Gavin Elder.

The honorary pallbearers were Lindsey Elder, Alissa Christener, Shelby Friedrichs, Shaleena Cook and Jacklyn Cook.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established to the Hermansberg School Museum or Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
