January is school board appreciation month, and the Linn FBLA chapter teamed up with Linn FCCLA and the rest of the school to show appreciation to the USD 223 school board members. The Linn FBLA chapter made cards for each board member and went around the school to gather signatures from the staff and students. At the meeting on Jan. 11 many members of FBLA were present to show appreciation to the school board. Linn FBLA’s vice president, Trent Beier, addressed the board to express gratitude for what they do. Secretary Faith Beikman had board members draw numbers from a hat to win baked goods. Thank you to the USD 223 board members Doug Beikman, Alan Ohlde, Darren Bott, Toby Bruna, Kellan Tegtmei er, Jim Zarybnicky, and Janell Wohler. Linn High School appreciates all that you do.

For the Linn FBLA Christmas Party this year, members gathered to eat and celebrate accomplishments this year. Prior to the party, the chapter decided to make Christmas ornaments for the Linn Community Nursing Home residents. Chair of the committee, Faith Beikman, demonstrated how to make the ornaments at the Christmas party. Everyone’s goal was to make five ornaments. Finally, they made the goal of 113 ornaments. Linn FBLA Chapter president Carly Kolle delivered them to the nursing home. Every nursing home resident received an ornament along with many of the staff. The group has gotten a lot of feedback.
