Erwin Keith Welch, 86, of Washington, died Nov. 13, 2020, at the Leonardville Nursing Home.

He was born July 5, 1934, to Doss and Ella Mae (Peterson) Welch at Haddam. He was a graduate of Morrowville High School.

On Oct. 8, 1953, he was united in marriage to Alberta Corbin at Enosdale. They had three children: Donald, Cynthia and Jill.

He worked for Johnson Trucking, Hill Oil Company, the State of Kansas Department of Roads and Midwest Products.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Alberta; son, Donald Welch; son-in-law, Ron Clay; brother, Verlin Welch; and granddaughter, Katie Welch.

Survivors include daughters, Cindi Clay, of Hollenberg, Jill (Jerry) Hoover, of Washington; sisters, Donna Wichman, of Clay Center, Anita Wells, of Gretna, Neb.; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Ward Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Stark officiated. "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace" was played.

Pallbearers were Justin Hoover, Jerrod Hoover, Joel Hoover, Jerry Hoover, Wyatt Jensen and Alex Graham. Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery.

Memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
