Consider winter as an outdoor dog

Dear dog owners,

I guess by now everybody knows it’s winter and getting pretty cold. What about your dogs? Do they have adequate shelter? I know there are many dogs in this area that do not.

Apparently it is okay for dogs to freeze to death in the winter and die of thirst in the summer around here. I have never lived in such a DOG-forsaken place.

When you are lying in your warm bed, in your warm house, think about your dog, desperately cold and even more desperately lonely and wanting out of that tiny little jail cell it is in and never gets out.

Or God forbid, chained up year in and year out. If there is anything to karma, perhaps you will come back as a dog and be owned by a human such as yourself.
