Summer fun at Clifton’s Fourth of July event

Several kids’ events were part of Clifton’s annual Fourth of July celebration July 5-6. The tug of war over the mud pit, above, brought several young boys and girls who were ready to get muddy.

The turtle races gathered a large crowd as dozens of turtles competed to be the fastest. Some youngsters painted their turtles in various colors and designs.

Digging for treasure isn’t for everyone. This little lady preferred scooping water from a mud hole over digging for coins in the sand pit.
