Plenty of questions about future of airport

Commission receives feedback about county airport and CVA’s request to purchase it, CVA says it would close airport except for limited use

There was a lot of talk about the county airport at the county commissioners meeting Monday. The discussion began with each of the commissioners talking about the feedback they’ve received since news broke last week that Central Valley Ag wanted to purchase the airport because it was within the flight path of a facility they hope to build near the intersection of Highways 15 and 36. The discussion ended for the day after an engineer who works with airports agreed to investigate the matter and contact commissioners “in a day or two.”

Commissioner Tim Mueller said he had five-to-six phone calls about the fate of the airport, and all were in favor of selling the airport but keeping the memorial located there.
