Ryan Nelson takes educational trip to South Africa to study its ag industry

Ryan Nelson is becoming quite the world traveler. The K-State senior and Washington native will soon take his third trip abroad as he learns about agriculture in other parts of the world. Nelson said he takes the trips because he is intrigued by agriculture.

“I’m interested in not only how farming is done in Washington County, Kansas, or the United States, but all over the world,” he said.

Nelson went to Ireland through the agriculture economics department last year, and he went on a 15-day trip to South Africa in May through the animal science department. He will be traveling to India in January.
