Clifton boys bring home fourth at state Peewee tournament

The Clifton Cardinals Peewee baseball team had all the momentum in the final inning of the third place game of the state peewee tournament on Friday in Concordia.

The team qualified for the game by qualifying for a bye in the first round of the tournament followed by a 3-2 win over Waconda. They fell to Washington in the semi-finals to face Concordia Knights of Columbus in the third place game.

Concordia scored two runs to start the game, but Clifton answered with three runs of their own. Both teams cooled off in the second inning, with the score stuck at 3-2 in favor of Clifton.
