Tigers set up for success with six returning state qualifiers

The Washington County High School boys’ track team has seen several successful seasons in a row. Last year the Tigers took third in Class 2A, and despite losing seven athletes to graduation, WCHS could see equal, or better, success this season with the return of six state qualifi ers.

Lost to graduation were Braden Eaton, a member of last year’s 4x100 relay team; Cole Thompson, who took third in the long jump, was a member of the fourth-place 4x100 relay team, placed eighth in the 200 and qualifi ed in the 100; Konnor Penning, who placed fourth in the shot put; Jon Harding, a state qualifi er in the 110 high hurdles and 300 hurdles; and Neal Ehler, Austin Metz and Martin Walter.
