Doris Cecelia Baustian Collins Cole, 86, Washington, died Tuesday, Sept. 23. She was born April 30, 1928, in Lucas, the daughter of Bryan and Olive Baustian. In 1942, she moved to Concordia, where she graduated from Concordia High School in 1946. She married Marion Collins in 1947. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Washington, a past president of UMW, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Emmons Unit of the Washington County Extension, a past District Director of the Northeast Area of the Kansas Extension Homemakers Council. She owned and operated a catering business in Concordia for years following the death of her husband Marion. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dean Baustian (killed in the Battle of the Bulge in 1945); her first husband, Marion Collins in 1974; and her husband, James Cole in 2010. She is survived by one son, Bryan Collins, his wife Karen and three children and two grandchildren, Seattle, Wash.; five step-children, James Cole, his wife Trudy and their four children and ten grandchildren, Washington, Sandra Hood, her husband Mike and her two children, Washington, Jon Cole and his wife Heaven and their two children, Washington, Jeff Cole and his wife Camey and their three children and his one child, Minden, Neb., and Jerre Cole and his wife Kim and their two children, Highland. Visitation will be from 12-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington, with family receiving visitors from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 26 at the United Methodist Church, Washington. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Ward Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
