When the words “Land Grab” appear in a headline, they stir up fear in the hearts and minds of farmers and landowners alike. Private property rights are fundamental to our very existence in rural America and the thought of them being infringed upon or taken away entirely makes the hair on the back of my neck bristle with discontent. However, what if that movement was not solely based on fact and was trying to play into our emotions and fears? What then? Who can you really trust?
